Masunga is preparing to open a new chapter for PaygOps, taking the next step in its commitment to openness and accessibility with the upcoming release of PaygOps Community Edition, a new community-driven open-source version designed to make PaygOps more accessible, transparent, and widely adoptable than ever before.
This marks a natural evolution for PaygOps, whose OpenPAYGO Suite (including OpenPAYGO Token) has already helped hundreds of distributors and technology partners adopt PAYGO business models more easily. Those open initiatives have long proven the value of lowering adoption barriers, driving innovation, and building trust across the off-grid and inclusive finance ecosystem.
Why Open Source?
PaygOps Community Edition is designed to expand PaygOps adoption among distributors, NGOs, and technology partners, offering a self-hosted, free version for tech-enabled users who seek flexibility and ownership over their digital operations. At the same time, we will continue to provide our expertise and offer commercial-grade solutions — including the full suite of advanced features and professional support services — through the cloud-hosted PaygOps Enterprise Edition.
“PaygOps Community Edition is about growing the ecosystem around PaygOps, enabling more players to access, experiment, and contribute, while continuing to offer our expertise and high-value services such as integrations or customised solutions”
- Siten Mandalia - CEO at masunga
Through the Community Edition, we aim to:
Lower entry barriers for cost-sensitive but technically capable distributors and local implementers.
Strengthen sector transparency and interoperability, paving the way for more standardised data models and integrations across solar, agritech, and asset-finance solutions.
Foster community-driven innovation, inviting developers, integrators, and local IT companies to build on top of PaygOps.
Enable new sectors and communities to adapt PaygOps, allowing local developers and in-house tech teams to tailor it to their own industry needs.
Give organisations full ownership and control over their technology, empowering those who prefer to self-host to ensure long-term continuity, data sovereignty, and independence.
